OMG…I don’t even know what to say except OMG. From the time we arrived in Orlando to leave until the time we got back it was awesome! My first flight was a rough one – we flew through some bad weather in Charlotte and had enough turbulence that I had to get some Dramamine before we caught our connecting flight . The second plane ride was much smoother than the first and was even enjoyable around hour 3 when we started crossing the canyon and desert. The views were breathtaking but I wasn’t brave enough to take the window seat to get pics until our return trip. We got to LAS airport and got our bags and then we were off in my very first cab ride – it was interesting – cabbies drive like mad people!  We got to the MGM and it was unreal! We stayed in the Signature towers (the non-smoking part of MGM) and it was AMAZING! The staff was so friendly and we were treated like royalty! The called our cabs – brought our room service – took our bags and even gave me an extended check out time since our flight was later in the evening! The first night we were there – we walked part of the strip and couldn’t believe how far apart everything is! We walked about 3 miles that first night and NEVER made it to the north end of the strip (near Caesar’s and Bellagio) so I definitely got my work out in that day! The second day we walked around some more and spent some time in the Casino until it was time for the concert… IT WAS AWESOME!!!! Bette has to be the BEST person in concert I have ever seen! The props we crazy the show was bawdy and she even had a shout out to her gay fans! The crowd went crazy! I can’t say enough about it but sadly they did not allow cameras in the theater so – I could only get some video on my cell since it didn’t require the flash. On Sunday – we went ATV riding through El Dorado Canyon – we had sooooooo much fun this day! We got to walk through about 1/2 mile of gold mines- they wouldn’t let us go any farther but I didn’t mind. They told ghost stories of the mines and let us see what the work conditions were like! We got some great pics this day and had a barbque lunch in an old time gold miners town. On Monday -we went to the Grand Canyon. This was so intense. It literally made you feel sooooo small. really. The part we went to didn’t have any fences or railing just straight drop offs to 4,000 feet. It was scary but also very natural. You didn’t feel like you were in a tourist attraction with all the fences and signs – just the common sense that the good lord gave you to stay away from the edges! Pics to come i promise! We also met two very cool ladies from New Caledonia – Collette and Nicole’ (they are french). We had to leave the next day but the trip was crazy great! OH and did I mention that I won $418 dollars while I was there? Next up is the beach body challenge to get ready for our Sanibel trip and I am more than ready since I basically ATE my way through vegas – so much food – so little time.

We are leaving for Vegas in just over 2 weeks from now.  OMG I can’t wait!  It is going to be sooooo awesome!  We are thinking that we will buy one more small luggage so we can pack half and half .  That way if one bag gets lost we both still have clothes.   I have been hearing a lot about it from people who have been and it sounds like a dream trip – Vegas, Grand Cany.on and ATV’s in the desert!  Last but certainly not least – BETTE MIDLER in concert!  Jo’s dad always wanted to take her to the GC but he passed away before he got the chance.  I feel a mix of emotions about that – I mean I couldn’t decide where to take her and then all of  the sudden the GC popped in my head and I though – hmmm that’s close to Vegas too we could do both!  Funny how things work  – he was probably whispering it to me in my sleep or something :O)  Anyway, creepiness aside – it warms my heart to know that I am able to give her the trip they really wanted to take and just couldn’t.

Switching gears for a minute – my temp this morning was up – 97.2 and it was supposed to go down.  Today is CD 29 – supposed to be the last day of this cycle but I have a feeling this one will be longer due to my topsy turvy life her lately.  My boobs did get sore 2 days ago and I have been feeling sluggish so I’m sure it’s not longer that a week to go to she gets here.  This cycle looks anovulatory as well.  Looks like I have to lose some more weight to get things going in the right direction.  6 More lbs. will put me at this months goal but I only have 2 weeks left (with a vacation trip) in the midst of all that to boot.  HMMM….might have to use that gym at the hotel after all :O)

Let me just start by saying we had a great AWESOME time this weekend!  We went to St. Augustine on Friday night and stayed until Sunday afternoon.  When we got to the hotel it was late but we wanted to go to the beach so we tried to get out but couldn’t figure out the lock on the pool area so we walked around to the other side and read the sign that says pull red lever (we were pushing) to open.  yep.  we were that excited we didn’t stop to read directions.  We finally made it to the beach after two more gates to overcome and it was beautiful!  It was dark but you could still see the white caps on the beach and you could hear everything!  So we walked back to the room after about 15 minutes of sitting there and debated on ordering room service – we decided not to since it was so late and we are still watching our figures after all.  I was bound and determined not to tell her until 12am – which was officially her birthday – the we are going to vegas for 5 days!  I gave her the other present I bought for her  – a new pair of Oakley’s (polarized) – to help hold her over until 12.  The moment finally got here and I jumped up screaming because I could tell! I could tell!  I scared her half to death until she realized I was yelling HAPPY BIRTHDAY!  I got her present (but not the camera) and kinda threw it at her cause I was so excited – we she opened it I tell ya it was the best!  I can’t even describe her face and I am a little bummed that I was a stooge and forgot to document the moment – but I won’t ever forget it.  So now the cat is out of the bag Las Vegas here we come!  The rest of the trip was unbelievable – we rented scooters and drove all over St. Augustine  (I had to get the small one because I’m short so it was a little do, do, dodo, do, do ,doto dodo) and did I mention it was bike week too!  We have decided that sometime in the near future we might invest in some scooters for when we go back there or for our summer Sanibel trip.  We said once we get them we will get matching leather jackets that say “steel vajayjay’s” - our biker group name!  We went to the Alligator farm, St. George street and a bunch of other places.  We skipped the fort this time but will go back next time.  We did a Pirate Ghost Tour in Mantanzas bay – AWESOME!  We even got chosen to help hoist the sails on the ship – Jo really loved this!  After we went on a ghost trolley to the old Spanish hospital, the old jail and the old drug store.  I got some really great orb pics, supposedly they are the evidence of spirits.  All in all a fantastic weekend that I will never forget…ever :o )p22801491

I have been so unbelievably busy planning for my sweetie’s B-day coming up this month!  It’s a big one for her – the big 30!  Yes this month in 1979 Jo’s mom was heavy with baby and ready to pop!  She is nostalgic about the time and remembers her pregnancy fondly – unlike some women who hate being pregnant her mom loved it and is anxiously awaiting the arrival of a grandbaby to cuddle ASAP!  So in light of the big day I am planning a monster bash in none other than the “city of sin” – LAS VEGAS BABY!  I have made all of the important arrangements – like the hotel and the main concert she wanted to see – BETTE MIDLER!  We saw her about 5 years ago in Atlanta and it was awesome!

Her birthday will come in two phases – the birthday weekend which will be spent fairly locally in St. Augustine “on the beach” and the second phase to sin city.  #2 won’t take place until march though because Bette was taking feb. off so she didn’t have any shows then – only Cher which wouldn’t have been bad but it’s worth the wait to see who you want.  I can’t decide if I want to do the helicopter tour of the GCanyon or the river raft tour – both would be great but I am not sure yet.  I am leaning toward the raft because there isn’t a weight limit – and there is for the heli and I don’t want her to be embarrassed because she was over on her birthday trip ya know – that would just suck and be totally awful.  So maybe I do have my mind made up after all.  I am going to try to fit in an ATV tour of the Valley of Fire and maybe a Circ de soliel show….any suggestions?

OH and I can’t leave out the biggest part – even though gay marriage is not legal in Nevada  – (but prostitution is?) there is a small chapel that does commitment ceremonies.  We have been talking for a while that we would like to do that but it always gets pushed back and cancelled because life happens so while we are there  – I am going to see if we can’t get “hitched” in a traditional Elvis wedding LAS VEGAS style :)

If anyone reading has been and thinks there is something we absolutely should NOT miss please feel free to let me know!  This will be both of our first time there and my first time on a plane – ever.

In TTC ville – this week has been a doosey for me  – I haven’t been as disciplined this week as I have for the last 5 and  I can really feel a difference.  I keep telling myself “by eating that you are setting yourself back 100,200, 500 calories from getting a baby”.  The usual motivation is not working and I need a swift kick in the but to get me back on track.  July is our target month both for TTC and weight loss.  It is also the month we will be going to San.ibel Island so I want to look slim and trim for both my bikini and uterus debut!  We still have some vials left at the bank and are going to proceed with IUI’s at that time – 4 tries is all we have.  In charting world FF will only give me a guesstimate of when  I ovulated based loosely on my temps alone because I haven’t been charting CF and position this cycle – I just wanted to get in the habit of taking my temp ya know…baby steps.  According to the chart I o’ed on CD 10 (maybe) and temps since then have stayed above the cover line so who knows.  I am hoping that the 4 days I didn’t exercise will not FUBAR it.
